Kosovska Mitrovica

Kosovska Mitrovica is a city in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, located at 42.89°N 20.87°E, at 496 m of sea level ( confluence of Sitnica river and the river Ibar). Kosovksa Mitrovica is a municipality with 350 km2. Besides the city itself, 49 villages constitute the municipality. The seat of Kosovskomitrovački administrative district is located in the city, which includes 5 more municipalities: Vučitrn, Srbica, Zvečan, Zubin Potok and Leposavić. Kosovska Mitrovica is located in the north of the Kosovo valley, surrounded by mountains, Mokra Gora and the slopes of Kopaonik and Golija. The river Ibar flows through the city, and separates it into the northern and southern part, as well as the rivers Sitnica and Ljušta. North of the city the Ibarska valley starts through which the river Ibar flows towards Kraljevo, where it instills into Zapadna Morava River.
